Joanne practices in the areas of general civil litigation, including torts liability and insurance defense and criminal defense. She has advocated for clients in courts throughout Kentucky and southern Indiana.

Joanne has served as lead counsel in multiple jury trials in Kentucky and Indiana and is one of the few attorneys in Kentucky to have tried a death penalty case to verdict. She also has substantial experience in litigating original actions before the Kentucky Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. She joined Blackburn Domene & Burchett after her tenure as supervising attorney of the west office of the state public defender’s capital trials branch.
