William E. Sharp
William practices in the areas of federal civil rights litigation, insurance defense, and appellate litigation.
William has represented a broad spectrum of clients in complex civil rights litigation in state and federal courts throughout Kentucky. In doing so, he has successfully litigated complex federal and state constitutional claims on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants. He has also successfully represented clients in appellate matters at all levels of the federal and state court systems. His appellate experience includes having served as lead counsel in cases seeking and opposing certiorari before the United States Supreme Court, and having briefed and argued complex civil rights issues before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, Kentucky Supreme Court, and Kentucky Court of Appeals. He also possesses substantial jury trial experience, having served as lead counsel in over a dozen state court criminal jury trials in which a verdict was returned.
